Enjoy Iowa’s natural heritage on this prairie hike at Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge. Join Botanical Garden staff as we travel through time and explore the wide-open prairie. Take in the sights, sounds, and scents of plant and animal life on the open plains. This hike is on a paved path. Members $8, Nonmembers $10, Free Youth Admission Register Here

Spring Ephemeral Hike

Join Botanical Garden staff on a leisurely stroll through Brown’s Woods Forest Preserve in search of spring ephemerals and mushrooms. Participants of all ages are welcome to enjoy this mile-long hike to search and learn more about these short-lived treasures such as trout lily, spring beauty, and dutchman’s breeches.
