    Friday evenings, 6 – 10 pm, Jan 9 – Mar 27, 2026 EXTRA EVENINGS: Saturday, February 14 Saturday, March 14 | Tuesday thru Thursday March 17-19, 2026 Experience the Botanical Garden in a whole new light when you step into the warmth of our lush, tropical conservatory and newly renovated Gardeners Show House – each beautifully illuminated to create a magical, after-hours escape. Whether you’re planning a fun family outing or a romantic date night, Dome After Dark is a must-visit winter ‘hot spot’. Flora is open for dinner from 6-9pm, along with the Flora bar inside the cafe. Sweet and savory refreshments available for purchase in the Garden Gateway, along with beer, wine, and various non-alcoholic beverages, until 9:30pm. Get your tickets now or at the door.

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is celebrating bringing blues to fans of all ages for the past 20 years.     Beaverdale Books hosts a Meet the Author evening at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden featuring Beronda L. Montgomery. She will speak about her latest book "When Trees Testify—Science, Wisdom, History, and America's Black Botanical Legacy". John T. Price will moderate. Free event, no preregistration required. After this event, consider joining the Greater Des Moines Botany Book Club for discussions while immersed in the beauty of the Garden. February's book will be "When Trees Testify". Registration includes onsite book club meetings monthly in the lush conservatory and refreshments. Registration does not include books. Find more details here.
