The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is the place for memorable proposals. After all, our spaces make it feel like a true destination no matter the season. Even when it may be cold outside, it’s always warm and inviting within.

Proposal Package

$175 includes:

  • Admission to the Garden for up to four people
  • Semi-private location for 15 mins
  • + 45 minute-reservation for photography* in the Garden (one-hour reservation total) *photographer not provided
  • Gift box including: two mini bottles of Prosecco (21+) or non-alcoholic option, a small green plant, and a Botanical Garden memento item, along with 5% off a wedding rental
  • A Garden Coordinator for day of execution

Proposal Guidelines

Due to demand, proposals will be confirmed with payment in advance. They should be scheduled at least two weeks prior to the proposal date. Proposals are available for a one-hour increment of time during normal, daytime Garden hours. Concurrently, no after-hours proposals are available. Subsequently, we do not offer this package during our special events.

In addition, please review and adhere to photography guidelines below as well as the garden etiquette guidelines:

  • Props are not permitted. Props include, but are not limited to, flowers, petals, signs, balloons, candles, or confetti.
  • Items are not allowed to be staked or attached to anything in the Garden. Also, guests may not enter or disturb any of the flower beds, plant displays, water features, or other structures.
  • Photographers are not allowed to block pathways or visitor access to any area of the Garden. Tripods, lighting, and reflectors are not permitted. To clarify, monopods are permitted outdoors only if there is no interference with guest access.
  • Lastly, guests may not leave the premises with open alcoholic beverages.
