What keeps the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden growing as it seeks to cultivate diverse plant collections, offer experiences for all ages, extend free admissions, partner with schools, and celebrate the connections between plants and people through classes, tours, field trips, and unique gardens? YOU! Whether you are visiting, are an active member, attend a program, event or donate, you make our gardens greater every time you do.

Champagne & Chocolate helps make it happen

This annual event is the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden’s premier fundraiser, raising vital funds to benefit our educational, community-based, and horticultural programming. The bright and energetic celebration is the perfect experience to welcome the holiday season. All who attend delight in an elegant evening enjoying stunning sights, scrumptious food and drink, all things sweet, and eclectic entertainment.

50% MORE PROGRAMS OFFERED from July 2023 to June 2024
The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden expanded its partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa to include all eight clubs. Each club has already received a Plant Pet Kit and is offered one program per quarter. Community Memberships offer each club the benefit of free daily admission access all year long.

65 school field trips with 2,969 participants

ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS

PINEAPPLE PROGRAM
Increasing accessibility by reducing cost barriers and providing equitable opportunities in arts and culture.

254 PINEAPPLE MEMBERSHIPS (for EBT and WIC card holders)

2,287 FREE COMMUNITY DAY admissions

3,886 ADVENTURE PASS ADMISSIONS (with passes from 44 participating libraries throughout Iowa)

5,138 MUSEUMS FOR ALL ADMISSIONS (for EBT and WIC card holders)

11 COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIPS (Local organizations serving underserved individuals)

357 COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP ADMISSIONS (for local organizations serving those in need)
