Engeldinger Marsh, situated in northeast Polk County, is prized for its rare prairie pothole and sedge meadow habitats. This area supports as many as 300 species of plants and a variety of wildlife.

Join guide Loren Lown, with 30 years of experience as a botanist with Polk County Conservation, for a casual walk through the marsh. We’ll discuss the history and geology of the site and explore some of the hundreds of plant species present in the remnant marsh and wet prairie habitats.

This is a walk that welcomes the curious learner as well as the experienced botanist. Waterproof footwear is advised. Terrain may be uneven.

This is a free program, but spots are limited. Make sure to reserve your spot by registering.
